Improving living conditions for students is at the heart of the CROUS's mission, helping them to succeed in their higher education studies.
For more than six decades, the CROUS has been contributing to equality of opportunity for students by helping them to meet their needs through grants and specific assistance. It is also responsible for catering and student accommodation, which it is constantly improving to better meet students' expectations.
As soon as the health crisis began, the CROUS stepped up its efforts to combat the precariousness, isolation and psychological distress that hit students so hard.
The fight against poverty has resulted in a doubling of the financial aid allocated by social workers, the introduction of the €1 meal scheme and support for food distribution associations.
To combat student isolation, the CROUS has recruited student advisers in its university halls of residence to ensure the well-being of their peers. A number of dance, yoga and sophrology classes and online activities were offered live several times a week.
The CROUS has made the fight against psychological distress among students one of its priorities, offering free individual psychological consultations to all students in the academy, including in towns far from university campuses.
Thanks to the resources provided by the contribution to student and campus life (CVEC), the CROUS is committed to developing initiatives to welcome students and provide them with social, health, cultural and sporting support, in particular through a policy of supporting student initiatives.
The CROUS is committed to providing students with the best possible service. That's why it fully supports "Le Dégaine" in its efforts to better inform students in Marseille about the assistance available to them.
