Youth Assistance Fund (FAJ)
Exceptional aid scheme for young people
Age: 18 to 25
What is it?

All students, whether or not they are in receipt of a grant, can now apply for assistance from the Youth Assistance Fund (FAJ). There are 2 forms of assistance that can be combined, up to a maximum of 1000 euros per year per student.
- Students can apply for emergency assistance of 80 euros once only
- Students can apply for a living allowance of between 150 and 300 euros 3 times if their situation so requires

Conditions

To qualify, you must :
- be aged between 18 and 25 (the day before their 26th birthday for young people still enrolled in a course that began before their 25th birthday or enrolled under the PACEA scheme before their 25th birthday)
- be French nationals or foreign nationals legally resident in France and residing in mainland France
- meet your département's means test
Please note, however, that FAJ grants cannot be combined if you are already receiving the RSA, RSA Jeune or AAH.

Steps

To apply for help from the FAJ, you must contact a social worker who will become your reference. It is not possible to apply directly to the Conseil général.

- Your local Mission locale (most common solution)
- At your CCAS
- At your young workers' hostel
