Secondary school students, apprentices and continuing education trainees, the South Region awards a regional merit scholarship to baccalaureate holders with or without scholarships who are particularly deserving.
The Region wants to promote equal opportunities, encourage young people to strive for excellence, promote their work and facilitate their study pathways to prepare them for the future.
In addition to the national 'merit-based aid' scheme (€900), the Region has introduced a regional merit-based grant (€400).
Scholarship holders and non scholarship holders who have obtained the "Très bien" mention in their baccalauréat at one of the lycées in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region are eligible for this regional merit-based grant.

Note for the first two years of higher education: students who have obtained their baccalauréat with first class honours from 2022 and who receive merit-based aid or a regional grant for health or social work must submit a new application each year on the Region's website.
