Financial aid for deserving candidates preparing for a civil service competition
What is it?

The Talents bursary is intended for people preparing for one or more category A or B civil service competitions. It is intended to provide financial support for the most deserving candidates preparing for certain civil service competitions

Conditions

To qualify, you must be preparing for one or more category A or B civil service competitions. You must be in one of the following situations:

  • Student, in particular enrolled in an institute of preparation for general administration (Ipag) or a centre of preparation for administration (Cpag)
  • Student enrolled in a distance learning course at an organisation offering preparation courses for category A or B administrative competitions. These organisations may be public or private.

 

Nationality requirements You must be a national of a Member State of the European Union, the European Economic Area or Switzerland to be entitled to the allowance.

Diploma requirement You must be in one of the following situations:

  • You must have a diploma enabling you to take a category A (minimum 3 years' higher education) or B (minimum 2 years' higher education) civil service competitive examination.
  • Awaiting the results of your examinations when you submit your claim for benefit

Means test Your income must not exceed certain ceilings. These ceilings vary according to load points, determined on the basis of family responsibilities and the distance between your home and your place of study.

Steps

Applications must be made via an online procedure. No paper applications will be accepted. Grants are awarded by the prefects. Each region awards a limited number of grants per year. Your motivation to join the civil service is also taken into account. This is assessed in your CV and covering letter.
