Crous merit-based aid
What is it?

Complementary to the grant based on social criteria, this is additional aid for the most deserving students.

Conditions

As well as being stock exchange or in receipt of aspecific annual supportyou need :

  • have obtained the "very good" mention in the last session of the baccalauréat
  • or have already received it the previous year
Steps

You do not need to make any specific application for merit-based aid. It is paid in addition to the grant based on social criteria, which is applied for via the EHR.

This is the Crous which identifies the student likely to receive this aid after having taken note of the 'very good' baccalaureate holders from the previous year. The final decision on whether or not to award merit-based aid is then taken by the Rector and notified to the applicant.

You cannot receive more than three merit-based grants. This limitation applies to both linear and reoriented courses.

If you are repeating a year, you are no longer eligible for merit-based aid unless you are repeating a year for medical reasons.

If you were awarded a merit-based grant in 2021/2022 and were unable to receive it in 2022/2023 because you were no longer eligible for a grant based on social criteria, you may receive it again in 2023/2024 if you become eligible for a grant based on social criteria.

Lastly, students who are eligible for merit-based aid in 2022/2023 and who have carried out Civic Service during that year may receive their merit-based aid in 2023/2024, provided that they are in receipt of a grant based on social criteria and within the number of grant entitlements open for the course they are following.
